Student Accounts Representative

The Student Accounts Representative collects payments from current and former students, posts receipt of funds, manages campus level accounts receivables and administers receivables write-off process.  The SA representative also manages the monthly billing process and answers frequent questions from current and former students

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manages campus level receivables and follows up with in-school and out-of-school past due accounts on a continuous basis
  • Prepares reports as necessary
  • Receives and posts all funds, financial aid, student and 3rd party payments
  • Charges all students by the eleventh business day following a start
  • Executes draw down of all FA from GAPS
  • Prepares student disbursements for tuition overpayments
  • Posts refunds/credit adjustments, etc., for refund calculations and sends notification to students
  • Prepares all other administrative disbursements and posts to general ledger
  • Prepares monthly billings and monitors A/R
  • Administers cash payer installment notes
  • Issues statements to students regarding Title IV funds
  • Handles all credit card transactions
  • Makes bank deposits
  • Handles all in and out of school collections including referrals to approved collection agencies
  • Prepares “Net/Gross Cash Receipt” report monthly
  • Develops, processes, bills and maintains all third party participant funding (WIA, Rehab, etc.) and alternative loan resources (Sallie Mae, Plato, etc.)
  • Provide weekly feedback/reporting of department’s status to the Campus President
  • Additional duties as determined
  • Ensure excellent customer service and professionalism to all current students, prospective students and coworkers in all departments at all times

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • General understanding of current Title IV and federal and state regulations regarding student financial aid
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills
  • Understanding of general accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate sensitive financial information to prospective and current students in an understandable manner

Credentials and Experience:

  • High School degree or GED required, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Two year degree in related fields of accounting, finance, business, administration, etc. preferred
  • Prior related work experience preferred
