Lead Medical Assisting Instructor

The Lead Instructor provides collaborative leadership to faculty within the discipline(s) of their instructional Department and serves as the liaison between department faculty and Academic Dean and Campus President. The Lead Instructor is also responsible for providing quality instruction to students that meet the program and course objectives. The Lead Instructor should maintain an organized, disciplined classroom environment that is conducive to learning and imparts the requirements of the relevant workplace setting to existing students.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of educational environments including needs of adult learners
  • Ability to provide a positive and effective learning environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of professional career paths for which students are enrolled
  • Motivation, dedication and enthusiasm for teaching

Credentials and Experience:

  • A minimum of four years’ of related practical work experience in the field of Medical Assisting (Front and Back Office)
  • Associate’s Degree Required, Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred
  • CPR Certification, BLS Certification, First Aid Certification, and CMA preferred
  • Good organizational and communication skills

Special Requirements:

  • Flexible schedule, including overtime, evenings and some weekends
  • Attendance at Platt College Graduation
